Icelandic Brand Fish are processed, packed and shipped without the use of additives or preservatives.
Most other suppliers, however, resort to additives and preservatives.
This does nothing for their quality.
The preservative most commonly used is brine, which erodes quality, alters texture
and creates an undesirable sodium content.
The most abused additive is sodium tripolyphosphate.
All it does in increase the weight of the fish which, after all, is sold by the pound.
Since we use no additives, every pound of Icelandic Brand fish is an honest 16 ounces of pure, unadulterated, naturally-fresh fish.
